Epilation laser a saint raphael et frejus au Centre Laser Dermatologique
Facial red blotch and couperose

traitement des rougeurs au laser à Saint Raphaël au Centre Laser Dermatologique Raphaë
The facial red blotch or even, couperose (dilated facial vessels) are pretty unsightly when Reaching the forties, or even before this age when things start to “go bad” for the physical appearance.

They have multiple causes: tobacco, sun, alcohol, and even more simply the stress of emotive persons who “flush their face” when feel unsecure or angry.
Laser, and especially green wave lengths (around 532 to 560nm) are very selectively absorbed by the red of the superficial arterial vessels, thus commonly used to destroy red skin vessels.

This is why we have chosen the KTP laser which gives the best effects, either by the selective photothermolyse technique with “Dermastat” (sort of optical brush allowing to follow each blood vessel with magnifying glasses for preciseness, or even to carry out a facial scan with a scanner-like device (this technique more time consuming but it does not miss any vessel, even the smallest ones, but downtime is longer).

All the session is carried out with a cooling down of the skin with very cold air which allows feeling almost no pain.
Consecutively, some small scabs which will fall in the following days, and their loss will be eased by the application of a thick healing cream.

A sun-block protection is obviously indispensable.

For large non separable superficial red marks, flash light sessions (IPL) under 560nm are often very effective, and can sometimes complete the KTP laser during the same or another session.

They allow treating the whole face in a limited timeframe.

All these “physical treatments” must be combined with medical taking care of the underlying disorders:

  • Digestive disorder / heavy smoking / alcohol.
  • Vascular sinusal hypertrophy, nasal clutter, turbinate bones hypertrophy, with or without polyps.
  • Emotiveness, worsen by foods facilitating “vascular flushes”, such as chocolate or alcohol.
